Used to be our favorite place... eating there at least once a week. Today ordered from lunch special menu and was charged $2 more for each plate with no notice of price increase from server or menu. Also, specifically asked for crackers no bread! Didn’t happen! Also, no refill on our tea. Very disappointed!

Great clean and friendly place great food.

Food was fresh, and service was outstanding. Enjoyed our shrimp.

An example of social distancing at its best. Our truck was greeted as soon as we pulled in and the gentleman radioed in that we were dine in. All employees wore masks and were super friendly. Tables were marked to encourage distancing as well. Food was fresh, timely and fantastic!

The best. I grew up in the valley and left 20 years ago. Haven't been to this place in over twenty years and it's even better than I remember! Fan for life. Thank you Oyster Bar for keeping it real and not changing your beautiful ways

This is one of my mom's favorite O' school restaurant's in Harlingen. We all had a great time, cousin's in from Houston and were impressed with it all. Our server/bartender was great. He had a Dallas Cowboys cap and my cousins from Houston Texans t-shirt. Should I say more. Lots of laughs and a joy to see my mom enjoying herself. Thank you Oyster for great food and staff.

Love this place, the food is so fresh and delicious. The portions are amazing also you definitely get what you pay for. The staff is nice and friendly and it is always clean. 😊

Love love it, love it. From Central Texas we visit South Padre Island we hit both restaurant. Enjoy fresh Gulf Shrimp and Mexican ceviche!

You want seafood. Many Mexican restaurants that serve it. You could drive to the SPI. You could go to Long John's. But, why would you go anywhere else? Yes, you will spend about $5 less a plate at those other places. But, oh no...the quality. The texture. The taste. The lightly breaded shrimp dipped in that sauce. Nothing else matters. Give it a shot. You will probably be back for me.

The fish was excellent cooked to bright golden texture hot and fresh very delicious. Hands down the best place to eat fish or any kind of seafood in town. If your a fan of seafood you owe it to yourself to try this place.

Absolutely the best place for seafood in harlingen! Seafood done right and served the way it should be. The service is impeccable and can't stress enough how great the food is! Chilled salad plates and cocktail glasses just to name a few of the small details other places keep missing . The oyster service is great served with the right condiments, no other place in harlingen gets it right. Love this place😋

The food is good most of the time, they used to serve 2 rolls per plate, now they changed it to 1 roll. I called in an order and asked for extra cocktail sauce and extra tarter sauce now they charge you for that too. I figure if your buying their food they should give you the amount you'd like to go with your plate. Don't know if it's under new management but this is not good customer service the food is not cheap.

Was a good experience. Friendly staff and sizable portions. Meals were fresh. An update to the decor and exterior will make it a 5 star.

Delicious food, good service, excellent sweet tea, very quaint decor, XM Radio classic love songs aren’t too loud, bar makes good piña coladas, the batter for the fried fish and shrimp is fantastic. Since moving to Harlingen in 2014, I’ve been dining here pretty often, and I’ve never really had a bad experience. I’ve seen other tables have a complaint or two, but they always seemed like unreasonable people to begin with. Maybe I’m just a happy person. What I do know is I like Oyster Bar, and so does my mom; I take her out here whenever she comes to visit. For the COVID-hysteria crowd: they also do the social distanced dining experience really well, but hopefully they won’t have to do it anymore after November...

this restaurant is a home favored place for real fish and for a great price and with friendly faces and loving employees

I was very happy with my meal. I wanted shrimp so that was what I had. The fried shrimp of course. I ordered the full order knowing I would not be able to eat them all. My son had the shrimp po boy. He was happy with his also but helped me finish mine. The service was very good. Everyone was friendly. I have eaten at the Brownsville location also. Both are very good. Will eat there again at either local ;-) .

I took my mother out to eat because she wanted Oyster Bar. The waiter was so patient and kind. The food was just awesome and delicious. My mother enjoyed it just as much as i did. Thank you guys.

Good service. Comfortable, but closed in setting. Primarily seafood. Oysters are small but this is the beginning of the season. Drink selection is average. Atmosphere is many tables spread across a big room.

I had the fish tacos. The fish was tasty but the tortillas were slick with oil. Made for a huge stomach ache and that's cause I just ate the filling. Tea is good though.

3 dozen oysters, really the wrong time of year for them, but they were definitely edible. Ceviche appetizer was good! The shrimp in salad was huge and included every veggie known to man. House dressing is extremely good. Dad had the fish taco plate which he enjoyed!Had to wait for oysters to be prepped to serve, had to ask for refills on tea, had to ask for rolls, so service was so so, table stayed dirty, with past items like the oyster bowl, but overall a good meal. My first time there, the other 4 I was with have been there 3 times before, so that says something!!!!

Excellent service and atmosphere. Great food I enjoyed my half a dozen of Oyster on a half shell, also eaten at the table was the shrimp and fish along with fresh vegetables soup and the sea platter which was heaven! Shared with great company.

The fried shrimp is awsome but I really love the fish tacos! French fries are great too!

The fish and shrimp were excellent! Very fresh food. Nothing was greasy. Service was great. Lovely atmosphere. Clean restrooms. Good prices, portions, specials, and menu variety. Definitely a new favorite. Nice place to take out of town guests, host a family dinner, or go on a date.

My family has been going to the Oyster Bar since the late 80's. It never disappoints.I absolutely love their oysters! Excellent customer service, always!

I tried to like this place - but the seafood is all fried, and the breading is super bland. Our waiter was great, but that couldn make up for the boring fish. I had the sampler plate, and the nicest thing I can say is that the fish was ok.
